As a beauty therapist I love to talk about self care and mindfulness.  I am always recommending treatment frequencies to my clients as a way of introducing this into their routines. Some choose to accept my recommendations whilst others feel that the services that are on offer are an indulgence and should only be experienced more infrequently.

Some of the treatments that are on offer have many hidden benefits but taking time out to spend time with a trained professional can also be described as “self-care”.

What is self-care?

Self-care is described as taking care of your physical, mental and emotional health.

Self-care can be very important for reducing stress levels that can pose a risk for future heart disease amongst other serious illnesses.

Experiencing a massage allows total relaxation.   For a minimum of one hour you get to lie down, breath deeply whilst a trained professional works at releasing the strains and stresses of everyday life. Body massage increases your circulation, assists the elimination of toxins and releases endorphins. Having a massage on a regular basis can help to improve sleep quality and reduce stress levels.  We offer 3 types of massage that will leave you feeling revived and rejuvenated.

Life has become very busy, we have a million and one things to do. Technology means that we are available 24 hours a day. We can still continue with work long after we have clocked out of the office.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness encourages you to focus on the present. Being in the moment and enjoying everything that right now has to offer.

Taking 10 minutes at the end of a busy day to concentrate on your breathing and living in the moment has been proven to reduce anxiety and overall stress levels.  Search Mindfulness in the app store and you will see an abundance of apps!

The next time you feel like you want to enjoy a massage, facial or any other treatment don’t feel guilty. Just think of it as an opportunity to relax and unwind and live in the moment.
